Disable the global comments feed

What is the global comments feed?

If you have comments on your site, WordPress automatically creates a feed that shows the most recent comments on all the blog posts on your site. It could be 10 comments on your most recent post or comments on several posts.

Why should you disable the global comments feed?

This feed was historically useful but lost its use case a few years ago. Unless you are using it very specifically yourself somewhere, it really adds no value, but it does add a feed that search engines will crawl very regularly. This takes up time from those search engines that should and could be used for other content on your site.

How can you disable the global comments feed?
