At Progress Planner, we believe in making website optimization simple, structured, and motivating. With the release of Progress Planner 1.2, we’re taking a big step in that direction with our very first plugin integration: Yoast SEO.
This update is the first of many planned integrations designed to help website owners make the most out of their plugins by ensuring those plugins are properly set up and fully utilized. Many users install powerful tools like Yoast SEO but never configure them correctly, leaving valuable features untapped. That’s where Progress Planner comes in!
What does the new integration do?
With this new feature, Progress Planner’s assistant, Ravi, will help you take full advantage of Yoast SEO by checking whether you completed the most important setup tasks. If you haven’t done so already, Ravi will recommend, remind and help you to navigate those key steps.
Many website owners install Yoast SEO, or have it pre-installed by their host or agency, but never fully configure it. This limits their site’s performance and the amount of traffic they can attract from search engines.
Completing simple steps, like specifying whether your site belongs to an individual or a business or uploading a correctly sized logo, can have a huge impact on your search visibility. These tasks are easy to forget but crucial to get right.
Progress Planner will not only remind you to complete these steps but also guide you through them. Ravi will show you where to make the changes and keep you motivated with a rewarding, step-by-step approach. By following Ravi’s ongoing recommendations, you’ll steadily optimize your website, one small but meaningful task at a time.
Example recommendation for Yoast SEO: author archives
For example: if you have only one author, Progress Planner will detect this, and recommend you disable the author archives. That author archive is simply the same as your home page or blog page, so you don’t need it.

And then, because you don’t need those, it’ll also tell you to disable the RSS feeds for individual authors, since they’re a carbon copy of your global blog feed:

Why Yoast SEO?
We chose Yoast SEO as our first integration for a reason. First and foremost, we know this plugin inside and out. Having worked on its development for years, we understand its codebase, its features, and, most importantly, the real SEO challenges that website owners face. That deep expertise allows us to guide users through the most critical setup steps with confidence, ensuring they don’t just install Yoast SEO but actually use it to its full potential.
Beyond that, Yoast SEO is one of the biggest and most widely adopted plugins in the WordPress ecosystem. Millions of website owners rely on it to improve their rankings, but many don’t realize that proper configuration is key to unlocking its full power. That’s where Progress Planner comes in: helping users fine-tune their settings in a way that makes a tangible difference in their site’s performance.
Finally, the overlap between Yoast SEO’s audience and Progress Planner’s ideal users made this an obvious first step. Both tools cater to website owners and marketers who want to build a strong online presence but might feel overwhelmed by the endless to-do list that comes with it. By integrating with Yoast SEO, Progress Planner is taking its first step toward becoming the go-to tool for guiding users through their website optimization journey; one smart recommendation at a time.
